Social Distancing, a Volatile Stock Market, and a Great Time to Sell Your Home!

Years from now, when the summer of 2020 is logged in the history books, some of the items that will likely be highlighted are the rebound of Coronavirus cases in the U.S., an extremely jumpy stock market, and possibly one of the best times to sell a home.

There are actually several reasons for the latter, including:

  • Historically low mortgage rates (which is enticing for potential buyers)
  • A shortage of inventory (a perk for sellers, who can ask for – and get – top dollar)

According to statistics from the Pending Home Sales Index from the National Association of Realtors (NAR), home sales in the United States increased in the month of May 2020 by over 44%.

But in some cases, homes for sale could still be overlooked. Even with fewer properties to choose from, the ones that will typically sell the fastest are those that are updated and move-in ready.

While not all homes are 100% perfect for their buyers, a potential purchaser is still more apt to make an offer on a property that requires little work, versus one that is in desperate need of a top to bottom overhaul – even if the latter is priced lower and being offered “as is.”

Contact Fix & Sell

At Fix & Sell, we will get your property in shape, with no up-front renovation costs required. An updated home will typically attract higher offers and more potential purchasers. This means that you could make more money without having to pay anything out-of-pocket. Instead, all of the renovation expenses are paid out of the proceeds at the closing.
